I have always covered my acne and later the scars from that with foundation. About ten years ago, in my mid-forties, I stopped wearing any kind of makeup because of my eyes not being able to handle it anymore. People didn't even notice I wasn't wearing any makeup. But I totally get this, you not leaving the house without makeup as I have been there too.
