Then he remains silent. He simply looks at me. He looks at me, and gradually, he gets younger and younger, until he’s no longer the seventy-year-old man he is now but the seventeen-year-old boy I once met in the local park. The boy with dark curls and a dazzling smile. The boy who, only a month into our relationship, told me, ‘I’m you. You’re me.’
